Myth Engine: Creating Push Lab
Build a workshop for comparing impulse and mass
Welcome
Play the Finished Workshop
Choose a push on the dial, then press the blue button. Watch the carts.
Click the game to enable sound. Space pushes both carts. H opens Help.
Two carts wait on separate rails inside a glass workshop. You choose a push and watch how each cart answers it. Weights, gauges and printed readings let you compare what happened, then arrange another experiment.
Try adding a weight to Blue, then give both carts the same push. Its change in velocity becomes smaller. That change is the science you’ll build into this workshop.
What You’ll Build
Your project grows from a still bench into a working experiment. Each chapter gives you its finished workshop to play and a project download to compare with yours.
- A chamber, two rails and two carts.
- Carts you can drag along their rails and return from rest.
- A dial and direction lever for choosing the next impulse.
- Weights that change each cart’s mass, live gauges and printed observations.
- Independent pushes, optional comparison goals and starting setups you can save.
An impulse is a push accumulated over its duration. Here, Myth applies it in one operation. On these ideal frictionless tracks, the change in velocity equals impulse divided by mass. The papers record that immediate change; the gauges follow what happens afterward.
The workshop opens without a timer. You can explore before trying a goal.
Get the Starter Kit
The kit contains the workshop’s pictures and sound. Install it into your empty project with File > Install Myth Pack…, choosing Add to This Project.
To install it, open Myth Engine, choose File › Install Myth Pack... and pick the downloaded file.
Open the Finished Project
The finished project contains the workshop’s own Logic. Open it when you want to compare a part with yours.
To open it, start Myth Engine, choose File › Open Project... and pick the downloaded file.
Start with the prepared workshop. Your carts can wait while you build.
