$19.99
The complete editor today, actively developed—plus every future update at no extra cost.
Alpha pricing — buy once, own forever
Myth Engine is in Alpha. Use the complete editor and every starter free for 30 days, then buy one one-time license to unlock distributable export and commercial publishing. No subscription, no feature tiers, no yearly editions, and no Myth Engine royalties.
One license, three milestones
Myth Engine is priced by development milestone, not by year. Buy during Alpha for $19.99 and you own the engine through Beta, the 1.0 Full Release, and beyond—no second purchase, ever. Lock in the lowest price it will ever be.

$39.99
The price for new buyers once Beta ships. Beta arrives as a free update for Alpha owners.
$59.99
The price for new buyers at the 1.0 Full Release. A free update for every earlier owner.
The pledge: buy once, own forever, with lifetime updates. Myth Engine will never move to a subscription or a pay-again yearly edition.
There is no monthly fee, no annual plan, and no feature meter. One payment buys one permanent license, and the editor keeps working locally.
Myth Engine will not be resold as a 2027 edition, a 2028 edition, or any pay-again annual release. Updates land in the copy you already own.
Every update is included with your license—bug fixes, new features, Beta, the 1.0 Full Release, and future major versions after it.
Try all 25 resource editors, every starter, visual logic, JavaScript, and the local playtest loop before purchase. Trial projects can be saved and tested locally; distributable export unlocks with a paid license.

No, and it never will be. Myth Engine is a one-time purchase with lifetime updates. There is no monthly plan, no annual support period, and no yearly edition to rebuy—your license simply keeps receiving updates.
Myth Engine is complete enough to build and publish real games, and it is still actively developed—editors, workflows, and features continue to evolve, and occasional rough edges are expected. The free 30-day trial shows the exact current state of the product before you pay.
No. Milestone prices apply only to new purchases made at that stage. If you buy during Alpha for $19.99, Beta and the 1.0 Full Release arrive as free updates to the license you already own.
Yes. With a valid paid license, Myth Engine charges no royalties on games you make and sell. Creators still need valid rights for imported art, audio, fonts, libraries, plugins, and store assets.
The paid license includes the full Windows editor, commercial distribution rights, lifetime updates including future major versions, itch.io purchase recovery, 2 active device activations, self-service device deactivation, and current builds through itch.io.
The account keeps the project and trial record, but distributable export, publishing, and commercial distribution require a paid license.
Yes. Your itch.io purchase page keeps access to the current Myth Engine files and future updates included with the license. itch.io manages download access and purchase recovery.
Distributable export requires fresh online paid-license validation. Paid users can still edit and run local previews during offline grace after a successful activation.
Paid purchases are eligible for a full refund within 14 days if the paid license has not been used to create a distributable export. A full refund revokes paid downloads and future export entitlement, but it does not delete local projects.
Release notes publish the signing status and SHA-256 checksum for each supported Windows release. Installers are uploaded to itch.io only after release verification succeeds.
Yes. Paid licenses support 2 active devices, with dashboard controls to deactivate an old machine before activating a new one.
Refunds, disputes, and chargeback losses remove itch.io ownership. Myth Engine rechecks that ownership and revokes paid activation and future export entitlement when it is no longer valid.
No. Myth exports web games and unsigned source projects. Store submission, signing, certificates, ratings, platform accounts, and privacy disclosures remain with the publisher.
itch.io handles payment and immediately adds the files to your itch.io purchase page. Connect that purchase to your verified Myth Engine account once; the site then activates the paid license without exposing a separate product key.
The editor and runtime are built around local desktop use. itch.io access is required for purchase, downloads, and updates; a Myth Engine account and internet connection are required for trial start, activation, ownership checks, and distributable export validation. Paid editing and local preview can continue during the documented offline grace period after a successful activation.
