Guest Object Editor

A Guest Object packages a picture and a bounded rule set for a game that accepts guests. It is a separate portable format from a project’s reusable Object definition.

Prerequisites

Use the Full edition with Advanced resources visible and open a Guest Object. Prepare a host game that permits the guest workflow. A file or printed card doesn’t grant permission to run inside every published game.

Make and Save a Guest

  1. In Picture, choose a picture file or use an existing Sprite’s first frame. No Picture restores the plain appearance.
  2. Set Body Size and Made By. Body Size accepts 8 to 64 in this guest/card format; use the guest/card format’s units for this field.
  3. Add a Rule, choose its When Event, then add the offered Actions and their parameters.
  4. Check the In a Game information and required permissions.
  5. Use Save as a File, then Load a Guest File to check the saved result. Print the Card if the host game uses photo import.

Imported cards can have rules the ordinary tiles can’t display. The editor preserves those rules. Start New Rules replaces them with a new authored rule set, so keep the imported file before choosing it.

Check the Host Interaction

Import the guest through the host game’s allowed file or card-photo workflow. Check its picture, body size, permitted rules, and response to the host’s Events. Test removal and reimport as separate operations.

Expected result: the host accepts a compatible guest and runs only the allowed behavior. The guest’s author label remains with its file/card. Loading a photo and loading a file are different import paths; check each path you offer players.

Troubleshooting

If a guest is refused, inspect the host’s compatibility and permission report before changing the file. If the picture is wrong, inspect the selected Sprite’s first frame or import a dedicated image. If rules are preserved but not editable as tiles, use the original card workflow or deliberately start new rules on a copy.

If a printed card doesn’t load, try an evenly lit, flat photograph with the complete card visible. Retain the original guest file so you can distinguish a recognition issue from a host policy refusal.

See Builder policies and Builder Mode for player-editing permissions.
