Coil Chip
Supported Object types: 2d. Attach this component where needed. An Object has at most one instance of this component.
Use Object components to understand definitions and instance overrides.
The chip record exists only when a program is assigned or player programming is enabled. Its properties therefore have conditional defaults rather than an unconditional empty-component record.
Defaults below are normalized factory values from the component schema. Object presets, dimension, project units, and Scene overrides can supply different starting values. “Not stored” means the path is optional or runtime-derived. Read the property description to interpret it. Blank resource references assign no resource.
Writable means exposed for property writes through Logic. A No entry can still be editable in the Object Editor; runtime-only values cannot be authored. World-space lengths use metres, screen-space lengths use pixels, and rotations use degrees unless stated otherwise. The current loader refuses pixel-era projects. Use Units and Coordinates when comparing values.
| Property and path | Type | Factory default | Behavior | Writable |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Program (program) | thing:coil | Not stored; see behavior | Coil program resource assigned to the chip. An empty non-player-programmable chip is removed during normalization. | No |
| Prefix (prefix) | text | Not stored; see behavior | Variable-name prefix used for the chip interface. Trimmed to at most 64 characters. | No |
| Speed (speed) | number | Not stored; see behavior | Instruction speed setting, rounded and clamped from 0 to 2097152. 0 selects the runtime’s default pacing. | No |
| Panel (panel) | text | Not stored; see behavior | Chip display mode: panel, screen, screen256, screenRGB, screenGPU, text, or hidden. | No |
| Output Event (outEvent) | text | Not stored; see behavior | Custom Event name raised by chip output. Trimmed to at most 96 characters. | No |
| Player Programmable (playerProgrammable) | boolean | Not stored; see behavior | Allows the in-game Chip Panel programming interface. An empty chip can remain when this is enabled. | No |
| Badge X (chipPanel.badgeX) | number | Not stored; see behavior | Horizontal Chip Panel badge offset in pixels. Rounded and clamped from -4096 to 4096; applies to player-programmable chips. | No |
| Badge Y (chipPanel.badgeY) | number | Not stored; see behavior | Vertical Chip Panel badge offset in pixels. Rounded and clamped from -4096 to 4096; applies to player-programmable chips. | No |
